Police have identified Ashlee Shingoose, a 31-year-old woman from St. Theresa Point First Nation, as the fourth victim of the Winnipeg serial killer known as Buffalo Woman. A witness placed her near a homeless shelter for the last time in March 2022. Winnipeg serial killer Jeremy Skibicki was convicted of killing four Indigenous women, including Ashlee, among his victims.

DNA analysis found her connection to the jacket police found, which confirmed her identity. Law enforcement teams discovered additional victim remains, which underscore the persistent issue of violence against Indigenous women throughout Canada.
