A disagreement forced Chance Englebert to leave his in-laws’ Gering, Nebraska home, where he vanished on July 6, 2019. Surveillance cameras recorded his final movements as they captured him walking through town during a severe storm. The extensive search operations failed to produce meaningful evidence. The community has joined search efforts extensively but still lacks information about Chance’s fate.

Cell Phone Activity: The last cell phone ping showed Chance Englebert near a truck stop in Scottsbluff while a severe thunderstorm began to cause flooding.

New Leads and Investigation Details:

A convenience store clerk in Scottsbluff provided a private investigator with new information about seeing Englebert just before the storm became severe.

The store clerk witnessed Englebert arguing with another man, but it is still uncertain if Englebert departed with this individual or continued walking.

Two women were seen running nearby in distress, though their link to Englebert’s case remains unclear.

Search Efforts:

Law enforcement and community members have participated extensively in the search for Chance throughout the years.

The ground search operations involved more than 147 volunteers who inspected an area of about 2,400 acres.

Aerial searches extended over 380 miles.

Local water bodies underwent draining procedures, and K9 units were deployed during the investigation, yet they failed to produce meaningful information about his location.
