In 1983, fourteen-year-old Sondra Kay Ramber vanished at her family residence in Santa Fe, Texas. The investigation started as a runaway case, but investigators now view it as suspicious and suspect it could involve abductions by unknown parties. Law enforcement identified a possible connection between this case and numerous young women who disappeared and were murdered in Galveston County, Texas, starting in the 1970s. The Santa Fe Police Department, along with Texas EquuSearch, launched a search operation for potential human remains in a Santa Fe garage on April 10, 2025. Because the garage has stood untouched since 1983, it might hold vital evidence. Teams began searching Thursday and worked through the night.
